I didn’t think we’d have to talk about this but I guess we have to. From a man’s perspective I have to pay close attention to how the world is right now. Men and women do not know how to behave with one another. In most situations, our natural urges are just not under control which leads us to act without thinking of the consequences.
Why do you think men and women teachers sexually abuse little boys and girls? Why do think in the wrestling business professional wrestlers both men and women have been caught making others feel uncomfortable?
Right now I’m reading a book which is titled, “Practice of Brahmacharya” by SRI SWAMI SIVANANDA. For those of you who are unaware of what Brahmacharya is, it’s a stricter and more spiritual practice that encourages men and women to view each other as just people and most importantly, eradicate any forms of lust we have for one another. Which in today’s Western civilization, this is very controversial.
Many argue that it’s natural to look at one another, to lust after one another, and to have some kind of attraction to the opposite or same sex. However, the more I read this book I couldn’t help but think that maybe the author has a point. A man’s greatest downfall has always been due to his lust for women. In today’s age sex sells but is it selling anything valuable?
The books states (pg. 3) “The sexual degradation that has overtaken mankind today is due directly to the fact that people have assumed that there is a natural “sexual instinct” in human beings. It is not so. The natural instinct is the procreative one. If men and women restricted sexual indulgence to mere procreation, then that itself is observance of Brahmacharya.” So many of these men and women are trapped in a vicious cycle that revolves around sex. Sadly enough, both genders tend to lose focus and motivation and endlessly try to seduce their co-workers. Unfortunately, in most cases, when people aren’t having a satisfying sex life they turn their attention to children which is just sickening!
If you do not have control over your sexual energy you will never accomplish anything. In the West, we are always looking for something from somebody else to make us feel better. We’ve become so co-dependent on one’s physical touch to make our days on earth a better experience. Trapped in a cycle of, “I just need to relieve my stress” from a social construct known as, “Hook up culture” which has led so many great people astray.
All of this pent up sexual energy and repressed thoughts created by a misinformed society that always thinks about sex. Are we that out-of-control that we can’t even be cordial, do our jobs, and go home? Which is why after careful consideration, I have become celibate.
During my journey, I’ve realized that “sex sells but it’s not actually buying us
anything valuable. There are so many addicts who just need another fix and when you try to educate them they’ll often say, “There’s nothing wrong with me!”
Business is business and I don’t want a woman taking my advances the wrong way. I am fully aware that the “Jezebel spirit” does lurk in some women. Obviously not all but as a man I need to be on high alert at all times. At my job, it’s best for me to watch my mouth, not flirt with any of these ladies, and remain professional because it’s a risk that doesn’t have a good ROI (Return of Investment) for me.
Let me break this down even further. If one keeps searching for lust from another companion they will remain stagnant in life and even possibly slapped with a sexual harassment charge. Just imagine the both of you have an argument or even a minor disagreement. Now, the whole workplace is in your business making up rumors about to ruin your character. You’ll literally have to quit your job and we all know how hard times are these days trying to pay bills.
It’s a waste of time trying to find your true love or your one night stand at your job. One cannot afford to play around and treat life like it’s the circus. Be smart and get your urges under control because if you don’t, you’ll never advance in life.
