If you reject Him, He will reject you

If you reject Him, He will reject you

“Lately I’ve been in the blind because I go back in the dark every time!” – Kieran the Light

I have been feeling overwhelmed because I feel like I am not giving God my undivided attention. I’m caught up in comparison culture, trying to people please, afraid to stand out, and feeling like a coward. Therefore, I took it to the altar.

The Most High wants us to be more intentional instead of being lazy. Think about it. We will worship the tell-lie-vision, social media, and sports, but you didn’t read the Bible because you didn’t feel like it or have the time?

When I checked myself I realized my battle with laziness was becoming overwhelming and distant from God. When I gave up drinking I was still lazy, inconsistent, and unaware of who I was. I knew something needed to change but I wasn’t sure what that was!

Therefore, instead of whining, I got rid of my bed and implemented daily spiritual practices such as this:

Morning

  • Workout
  • Read the Bible
  • Read Positive thinking book
  • Pray

Afternoon

  • Pray
  • Attend small group or finish a writing project

Evening

  • Stretch
  • Read the Bible or Christian book
  • Pray

Over the past two or three years, I’ve been sleeping on a Japanese futon to combat my spiritual laziness and have changed my life to center my time for prayer, fasting, healthy eating, and positive thinking!

Oftentimes we say we can’t hear God but God hears us! Mark 8:18 says, “Do you have eyes but fail to see, and ears but fail to hear? And don’t you remember?”

“Has life beaten us down so badly that we’ve convinced ourselves that the Highest is no longer with us?” Because it isn’t true! We have eyes but we need to see His grace and glory. We have ears but we need to listen intentionally to His grace and glory.

Universally, we’ve been praising a man and woman instead of God. The Pastor is put upon a pedestal of greatness as if they were a God. However, no one is God! We will never fill those shoes and nor should we try to. Our flesh gets the best of us so we gravitate towards these powerful sermons that make us feel better and shy away from sermons that challenge our walk with God. However, the heart lies. Jeremiah 17:9 says “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand?”

He gives us strength that these false idols never will! New age, spirituality, idols, and pagan gods will burn before the one true King. Their practices are never consistent like God because He was the same as He was yesterday!

The Bible says in Matthew 10:33-35
(King James Version) “But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.” When judgment day comes you will be held accountable for everything! Do you want to say you rejected the father? I know I don’t!
