God believes in me and that’s all that matters.

Many people will never see greatness in you. They’re quick to remind you of your past, give you disapproving looks because you’re not the typical Christian, and also just don’t want you to shine because you’ve outgrown them or shed your mysterious skin. The world’s best friend is negativity. All it knows is dragging others down and keeping them there. Lately, I’ve been categorized as a warrior, a crazy pastor dude, and maybe even extreme by others for my lifestyle changes to my health and my walk with God. But I don’t care anymore because I follow God, not man or woman.

Projections are very common in today’s society. People have a preconceived notion of who you are. Recently, a guy commented on an IG post I made titled, “PMO (porn, masturbation, and orgasm) makes you less attractive. I really tried to have a conversation with him in the comment section but he decided to refer to me as a crazy “Hellfire and brimstone Pastor”. Why? People like him, unfortunately, make assumptions about you over 1 post. We aren’t conditioned to have real talks, we are conditioned to name call.

Our world is used to putting everybody in a box and loves to tell others what you can and cannot do. But God calls us to stand apart! The problem is that many of us are scared of what others will think of us. We’ve let fear plague us so much that it’s lead to more mental health issues than ever before. If we let go and just let God have His way we can really make a difference.

I have been called by the Most High to minister to broken, abandoned, and socially awkward people because I understand their pain and suffering. When I found God, tbh, I thought He was mad and ashamed of me. But the more I read His word I realized all He wanted to do was use me to minister to other lost souls. He’s not looking for a perfect person, he’s just looking for someone who will surrender and obey His will.

It’s similar to Jesus when he was in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1-11). Jesus submitted himself to His father. The devil tried to tempt him three times but He believed in God, not the worldly desires the enemy was trying to push on Him. Which is what is called to do. Reject what others think and their outlandish philosophies and simply, follow Him and Him only because we cannot serve two masters (Matthew 6:24)

When I was younger my confidence only came from sports. Now that I follow God I retrained my mind to understand that walking with God is similar to the sports world. I have to train, fast, and practice every day just like learning the Gospel. God is 365 days a year and in comparison to sports, you live, sleep, and breathe it every day. Even if you are injured or fatigued you take a break, do what you can, and gradually, work your way back up to where you once were.

I can’t blame others for not seeing potential in me, handpicked people who weren’t me, and overall, always being paranoid saying, “You’re just not what they’re looking for!” I am what God is looking for and that’s all that matters!

Romans 12:6-8, “We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with young faith;  if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach;  if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.” We are all called by God but we have to surrender and stop fighting Him because obedient Christians, not rebellious ones receive His anointing.

I do not have to run all of my decisions through others because many people have distorted viewpoints based on personal experiences. However, God does not. When you have confidence like this many will think you are arrogant, smug, judgmental, etc. but you aren’t. You know what you want in a world that still compares themselves to others.

Lastly, you need to trust what God has in store for you. People are fickle but God keeps it REAL always! I pray that if you haven’t believed in yourself surrender those feelings to God. When I used to compare myself to others I felt my manhood being stripped from me. Now, I will not apologize for spreading the Gospel or make compromises for lazy Christians who just want to sip coffee, eat junk, and not seek God’s face or voice. Your walk with God consists of you allowing Him to penetrate your mind, body, and soul every day. There is no way around it. No cheat codes, just prayer, fasting, repentance, and surrendering your life to Him.
